The Artist
Ryan Helsby is an independent illustrator working primarily in dip pen and acrylic inks on toned and coloured papers. His work sits at the intersection of political cartooning, surrealist naturalism, and the visual grammar of the Victorian natural history cabinet — animals dressed as professionals, objects possessed with strange intent, authority rendered absurd.
